All about Runescape

Today's issue will be with regards to a 'massive online role-playing game': Runescape. I have played this game for several years to date and i must say that it is a very nice game indeed that is much suited to people of several characteristics. First of all, allow me a basic description of the game before i ponder forth.

Runescape is a game set in a fantasy world of medieval age where there is three basic classes- warriors or knights, mages otherwise known as wizards and finally, rangers or archers. However the good thing about this game is that you can train all three kinds of skills in a single character unlike that of most games where you have to create several characters to sample the different classes or jobs. The game is fashioned in a 2dimensional format; however being able to toggle the view change makes it seem 3dimensional. Still, the main disadvantage of this game as many players would agree is that the graphics as mentioned are not good enough to compete with many other advanced games that attract more mature players. Also, monster killing is rather slow and mundane compared to other rpg or mmorpg where killing monsters just take over several seconds( in runescape, killing monsters can take up to 30seconds!).

However, this game appeals to people who likes a rather peaceful relaxed pace game as everything about this game is rather slow and training some skills require excessive patience. This game is very varied as well as there are many ways of earning runscape gold pieces (for people who yearns for virtual cash) and also many different skills to train. Examples include woodcutting, firemaking, fishing, mage, range, cooking, crafting, runecrafting, etc. This game is a free to play however people who contribute US$5 monthly can enjoy members status granting them entry to members world where new territory lies, many more quests to be done, more variety of monsters and more skills available for training like thieving, construction, slaying, etc.

For people who like a bit of thrill, here come the fun part.... you get to kill players too! To add to the thrill, when u die u drop whatever you are possess at the moment (so keep stuffs in your bank!!!)and the player who killed you gets whatever you dropped. With great risks come great rewards. Doesn't it? :) Don't fret at the sound of this new though, runescape vies to protect many innocent players (or noobs hehe)and protective measures are such that players can only attack each other in specific areas like north of Asgarnia and Misthalin, the Wilderness or in the duelling arena in the east of Al Kharid desert. Furthermore there is a level difference rule in the Wilderness. The deeper you go the higher the level difference, thus players of higher levels from your character can attack you. So rule of thumb: don't wanna get bullied by pros, don't go too far north of the Wilderness.

Finally there is an interesting history about runescape itself for people who enjoys reading up about the storyline of the games they play. For example three Gods rule runescape, Saradomin the god of peace, Zamorak the god of evil and Guthix the god of war. The main thing about runescape will be about the rift between Zamorak and Saradomin. Go read more at the official runscape site.

For runescape fans who wanna know more about myself. Check me out. Firzen6666. And below is an interesting video i found on that compares runescape with WOW. The person who created this video is more towards the side of WOW though but it correctly shows Runescape life.
